A submission to Amalgamash's Smile Game Builder Summer 2021 Game Jam.

Game Synopsis

A new and virulent virus emerged from Druoxflor, carried by international visitors and migrants. It spread rapidly and became a global pandemic, with an unexpectedly high mortality rate.

When a vaccine was produced, people queued to receive it and, by mid-2021, 70% of the population was inoculated.

That was not, however, the end of the virus and it mutated into a brand new strain, becoming resistant to the vaccine.

Game Jam Version

The Game Jam Version of Pandemia (v0.9) is more a proof-of-concept game. I desperately wanted to finish it for the game jam, but work and many other projects - some business-related - swallowed the dev days into a black hole.

Creating the assets and models (and their textures) consumed most of the time. Composing and writing the music for Pandemia is also quite time-consuming.

So, that means that the submitted version comprises the Prologue only.

Game Music

I'm working on Pandemia's OST in collaboration with a friend. You can listen to the OST on Pandemia OST.

After the Game Jam

I will continue developing Pandemia (alongside my other game, Quietus).

The game will have multiple endings, depending on several factors including some of the choices you make: 4 main endings and 6 sub-endings.

All of the assets will be entirely customised and game-exclusive.

Squish Those Bugs!

I am aware of the many, many bugs currently infesting Pandemia, most notably the custom menu. At the moment, I can't figure out its cause but I will fix this for future versions.

I'll put a list of the v0.9 known bugs in a separate Dev Log.
